Is Medicare your health insurer?
Usually, Medicare is the primary carrier for adults over 65 years of age. Although, we DO NOT bill any insurance for medical equipment, typically Medicare will pay 80% of approved medical equipment. There are very specific rules in order to have approved equipment paid through your Medicare Plan. It is important for you to contact Medicare directly to understand your coverage rights and find a provider who will bill your equipment direct to Medicare.
Why do I have two insurances?
Many people who are insured will also have a secondary insurance. If this is you and Medicare has deemed a product to be medically necessary and Medicare has paid the initial 80%, many times the remaining 20%, of the Medicare approved amount, will then be eligible to be paid by the secondary insurance. It is important to confirm this with Medicare before assuming anything.
If Medicare denies the product as not medically necessary, then the secondary insurance will typically not pay any portion of the cost of the product.
If is important to contact your carrier to understand all your rights.
What are the Medicare Regions?

- Region A: Northeast
- Region B: Southeast
- Region C: Midwest
- Region D: West
